The Ministry of Social Welfare has been implementing this program for the development of the burnt and disabled people of the country. This program is being implemented through the Department of Social Services under the control of the Ministry of Social Welfare with the aim of ensuring active participation of the burnt and disabled persons in the economic development activities of the country. Through these activities, all the upazilas and urban areas of Chandpur district are playing a special role in the socio-economic development of the targeted burnt and disabled people and alleviation of their family based poverty. The purpose of this program is to provide micro-credit assistance to the burn victim and his / her family for the work in which they are skilled and experienced and skilled in order to create employment opportunities for the burn and disabled persons besides ensuring speedy treatment of burn victims.
Services:
1. Microcredit: Interest-free microcredit ranging from Rs. 5,000 to Rs. After taking the loan, you have to repay in 20 equal installments with 5% service charge.
2. Medical Assistance: There is a provision of one-time grant of up to Rs.
Client :
Burned and disabled persons of low income whose average annual per capita income is not more than Rs.1,00,000.00.
Service Center:
8 upazila social service offices and 1 city social service office under Chandpur district
Functions:
Burn and disability survey;
Enrollment of persons with disabilities
Vocational / Social and Health Orientation
Application in the prescribed form along with the scheme
Check the feasibility of the scheme
Selection of suitable borrower;
Providing interest free microfinance;
Areas of citizen cooperation :
Repayment of loan in equal 20 installments or 1, 2 or 3 installments depending on the scheme from the third month after receipt of loan by the beneficiary with 5% service charge;
Saving at regular rates fixed by party members;
Adhere to what members are made aware of through activities;
Assist the authorities in recovering the loan if any beneficiary does not repay it regularly;
Provide information and assistance to the authorities in selecting the right village / mahalla and suitable borrower;
Inform the appropriate authorities if any irregularity is observed in disbursement of loan.
Service Deadline :
Maximum 15 working days after selection of suitable borrower by the Implementation Committee.

Asylum Project Phase I Loan Program:
The Department of Social Services has been implementing the Asrayan project since 2001. The objective of the program is to rehabilitate the poor landless, homeless and uprooted families in rural areas by providing training and micro-credit. The program is being implemented in Sadar and Haimchar upazilas of Chandpur district.
