Major achievements of recent years  ( 3 years ) 

 

The Department of Social Services, as one of the nation building departments of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, is providing services to the destitute, poor, neglected, backward, disadvantaged, troubled, backward and disabled people of the country. By turning these targeted communities into human resources, the Department of Social Services is playing an important role in the overall development of the country by providing poverty alleviation and social security. In the last three years, 116.742  thousand old age beneficiaries, 46.432 thousand widows, husband abused women beneficiaries and 37.026 thousand indigent disabled beneficiaries, 1.234 thousand disabled student stipends, a total of 201.434 thousand beneficiaries. Person) Mobile Financial Services are provided through Cash and Bank Asia Agent Banking. Disability identification of 50.276 thousand persons with disabilities,Dimension determination and identity card have been provided. Steps have been taken to build district social service complexes at district level.

 

Potential major achievements of FY 2021-22:

  • * Ensuring the practice of integrity in service, encouraging innovation, strengthening research activities, providing effective services for customer satisfaction and service delivery system will be fully digitized by 2022. The challenges will be analyzed in the light of G2P's experience of providing allowances in the last financial year and in the current financial year an integrated and accurate digital database of all service recipients will be created and allowances will be paid to the beneficiaries in G2P system. Interest-free micro-credit activities will be made dynamic to build self-employment. Skilled manpower will be increased by mobilizing skill development training in child protection activities.
