Financial assistance

Financial grant from District Social Welfare Committee:


A one-time maximum grant of Rs.10,000/- (ten thousand) can be applied for in white paper from the District Social Welfare Committee, Chandpur. Attested photocopy of National Identity Card, attested proof of problem mentioned in the application form for obtaining assistance should be submitted along with the application.


Grants can be applied for in the following cases:


1. Destitute poor persons or families affected by sudden calamities/natural calamities

2. Destitute poor persons or families seriously affected by road/ sea/ rail accidents

3. Poor people or families affected by fire

4. Medical assistance to poor person or family affected by fire/acid burns

5. Access to medical assistance for poor people suffering from terminal and complex diseases

6. Assistance for the education of meritorious students from very poor families

7. Grant assistance to the affected immediately considering the situation

* One-time grant to slum dwellers  affected by river erosion: 

Subject to receipt of allocation from Bangladesh National Social Welfare Council, Dhaka, a one-time maximum of 10,000 (ten thousand) taka is provided to the slum dwellers of 03 upazilas: Chandpur Sadar, Haimchar, Matlab North and Chandpur Municipal Areas affected by river erosion. Beneficiaries are selected according to the list received from the concerned Upazila Social Welfare Committee. Besides, a total of 09 houses including 05 in Chandpur Sadar Upazila, 02 in Haimchar Upazila and 02 in Matlab North Upazila have been constructed under the house construction program for the landless slum dwellers affected by the river erosion.

  • Distribution of one-time grants to small ethnic groups: 

Tripura people live in Chandpur Sadar Upazila and Chandpur Municipal area among small ethnographic population in Chandpur district. The senior citizens of this population have been given grants and one-time education scholarships to students subject to allocation from Bangladesh National Social Welfare Council, Dhaka.
