The 16th World Autism Awareness Day 2023 was observed today, Sunday 02 April, with the theme "Creating a neuro-friendly inclusive world for all on a journey of transformation".
On this occasion, a discussion meeting and award distribution ceremony was organized at the conference room of the District Commissioner at 10 am in the joint initiative of District Administration, District Social Service Office and Handicapped Service and Help Center, Chandpur.
Deputy Commissioner, Chandpur Mr. Kamrul Hasan was present as the chief guest.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Mr. Imtiaz Hossain, General Secretary of Chandpur District Awami League and Heroic Freedom Fighter Mr. Abu Naeem Patwari Dulal, Heroic Freedom Fighter Dr. Syeda Badrunnahar Chowdhury, Chandpur Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Mr. Sanjida Shahnaz, Medical Officer of District Civil Surgeon Office Dr. Zahiduzzaman was present as special guest.
The program started with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Mr. Md. Monirul Islam, Social Service Officer (Registration) of the District Social Service Office presented the power point titled "Rehabilitation and Management of Autism Handicapped".
Mr. Mehdi Hasan, Consultant (Physiotherapy) of Chandpur Sadar Center for Handicapped Services and Aid, Mr. Utpal Majumdar Ashish Mr., parent representative participated in the discussion.Mr. Rajat Subhra Sarkar, Deputy Director of District Social Service Office presided over the event.Superintendent of Police, Chandpur Mr. Representative, District Social Service Office, Chandpur Assistant Director Mr. Mia Firoz Ahmad Khan, Sadar Upazila Social Service Officer Mr. Md. Jamal Uddin, Hajiganj Upazila Social Service Officer Mr. Shahadat Hossain, Kachua Upazila Social Service Officer Mr. Nahid Islam, Matlab Uttar Upazila Social Service Officer Mr. Anisur Rahman Topu, Haimchar Upazila Social Service Officer Mr. Ferdous Akther, Shahrasti Upazila Social Service Officer Mr. Abu Ishak, Disability Affairs Officer, Chandpur Sadar Mr. Suman Chandra Nandi, Headmasters/Teachers of various educational institutions, Officials of various Government-Private Departments/ Employees, NGO representatives, students, journalists, friends and parents were present on the occasion.
Mr. Md. Kamruzzaman, Municipal Social Worker of City Social Service Office, conducted the event.
At the end of the discussion, the prizes of the painting competition of autistic children were distributed.
